Privacy Policy
At Bookit, operated by DEVAPPS S.A.S. (Uruguay), we care about your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.
1. What data we collect
- Account data: name, phone number, email address and profile picture if you add one.
- Booking data: services, dates, times, company, booking status and notes.
- Payment data: bank transfer receipts and information needed to process payments. We do not store full card numbers.
- Location: if you grant permission, we use your approximate or precise location to show nearby businesses. We do not use it in the background.
- Technical data: device identifiers, push notification token, IP address, usage logs and error logs.
- Business data: business name, images, services, opening hours, bank details and business contact information.
2. How we use data
- Create and manage your account.
- Manage bookings and communicate with you and the business.
- Send access codes and notifications via WhatsApp, Telegram or push notifications.
- Process payments and refunds.
- Show nearby businesses and personalize your experience.
- Prevent fraud, abuse and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and improve the service.
3. Who we share data with
We share only the data necessary with:
- The business or professional you book with.
- Infrastructure and service providers: Supabase, Firebase, hosting providers, messaging providers (WhatsApp/Telegram) and payment processors such as dLocal.
- Public authorities when required by law.
We do not sell your personal data. Some providers may process data outside Uruguay; in those cases we apply contractual and technical safeguards to protect it.
4. Payments
Card payments are processed by external payment providers. Bookit does not store your full card details. Bank transfer receipts may be stored to verify payment.
5. Notifications
We may send you confirmations, reminders and booking-related notices via WhatsApp, Telegram or push notifications. You can change your preferences in the app or disable push notifications in your device settings.
6. Location
Location is used only if you grant permission and while you are using the app, to sort businesses by distance. You can deny permission and continue using Bookit without distance sorting.
7. Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active and for as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and prevent fraud. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we are required by law to retain it.
8. Security
We use HTTPS connections, access controls and technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No system is completely infallible, but we work to keep information secure.
9. Your rights
Under Uruguay’s Personal Data Protection Act No. 18.331 and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may request access, correction, updating or deletion of your data, object to certain uses and request portability.

10. Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage to remember your language and preferences, and cookies or similar technologies necessary for sessions and security. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
11. Children
Bookit is not directed to children under 13. If you are a minor, use the app with adult supervision. If we become aware of unauthorized data from a child, we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will publish the current version on this page and update the last modified date. If changes are significant, we will notify you through the available channels.
